An easy way to pull together a room design is pulling a color from your wallpaper or the accent wall color and painting it on one of your furniture pieces within the room! We just did this in one of our bedrooms to the IKEA Hemnes dresser. Sharing the 3 easy steps for painting a dresser to last.

 

 

We painted a dark blue accent wall in the boys bedroom with Pratt and Lambert’s “Heron.” We needed an extra dresser for Rocco to put in the closet, and purchased the IKEA Hemnes dresser. If we are being honest, Gabe assembled this one and said it was much more challenging to assemble than the previous IKEA pieces we have done recently. It’s an amazing size for the price though, with spacious lined drawers, so we know we will get a lot of use out of it.

Whether you want a tone on tone look or if the furniture piece is sitting on the opposite side of the room, painting it the same hue as your accent wall or a color from your wallpaper pattern can tie things together in an easy way! Painting was the easy part:

1. Prime your furniture piece.
2. Once your furniture piece is primed and dry, paint with color of choice.
3. Once the paint has dried, use a minwax clear polyurethane to prevent any chipping. That’s it!

That’s it! I’ve been trying to out the simple roll fold method to make it easy for the boys to find things, and hopefully (BIG hopefully there) learn to roll and fold themselves.

Just distracting myself over here with house projects in hopes to not go crazy with being somewhat homebound! Next thing you know I’ll be re-designing the same rooms. Help.
