DIY Eucalyptus Wreaths.

November 30, 2017

I made a wreath for our front door a few years ago because I saw one I loved that was just too pricey. It lasted us 3 years! So re-made another for the next few years. All you really need is a green wire (you can find in the garden/floral section of craft stores), scissors, an old wreath or wreath base, and your greenery! There are different types of eucalyptus so when calling around to your local grocery stores or floral markets, make sure to see if they carry seeded or silver dollar eucalyptus. They are easy to work with, dry out well, and smell really good too!

1.Divide your eucalyptus into sections that are thick enough to cover your wreath.

2. Cut long pieces of wire to wrap around the wreath and bind the stems. Leave a few leaves over the wire to hide it.your

3. Continue to layer your eucalyptus around the wreath until you cover the last section. Trim stems where needed. You can always weave in more branches to cover bare spots.

Let your wreath dry out a few days while laying flat, and add bells or bow on top. I found these bells at Target, but here are some similar bells.

That’s it! Just make sure when you store it, you keep it on top of your storage bin so it doesn’t get crushed.

I wish those faces would stay the size of that first window pane forever.

Let me know if you have any questions. I’d love to see your wreaths if you make one!

I LOVE that you repurposed a tired wreath. Not only did you save it from the landfill but you saved $ on new supplies that you didn’t need. LOVE IT! Thanks for the inspiration.
