A Night In

May 11, 2017

house to home

Posted 09/12

I am so excited to be able to be a part of this series that Julia and Kim put together! Tonight we are showing you our favorite room to cozy up and lounge in at night after the kids are in bed. It’s a place we can unwind and (tightly grasp onto) a little quiet. You will have to check out the rooms of the other bloggers involved to see some of the cozy spaces for ‘A Night In’! Here is a little more about our space…

Record station – One of our favorite ways to spend a night in is good music and just hanging out with some apps and drinks. We set up the bar cart to hold our record player and a bunch of our favorite records. I loved this Ceto copper table lamp from Article that gives off a really cool ambiance at night! It’s got a disco ball vibe so the light dances off the walls. A bunch of candles and plants are lined up next to it.

Layered rugs – For this lounge room, we layered a few rugs over the hardwoods that were pretty inexpensive. The bottom woven rug is from IKEA and the top rug is from Target. The cozy Lanna sheepskin is from Article is extremely soft, and adds just a nice texture (and footrest;)) to a space.

Wall decor – I usually take a year to commit to putting anything on the walls, but fell in love with this oversized macrame hanging and it made me bite the bullet. We hung two hanging mirrors and a picture ledge shelf to hold the vase and greenery. If it were up to me all the windows and doors in the home would be arched, but the arched frame will have to do for now;) I also brought in the Modernica planter from our bedroom since our fiddle leaf is currently in the plant hospital. The peace lilies are fantastic for indoors. Just don’t leave them outside in a windstorm. (Oops.)

Additional sources – In case you missed our last room update post, here is the sources for the rest of the room – Sofa: All Modern (similar) // Chair: Thrifted (similar) // Pillows: Anthropologie // Side table: Anthropologie // Lamp: Home Decorators // Ceiling pendant: Birch Lane // Bar Cart: West Elm

I often use down time at night to pour through design books or favorite mags. It gives my mind a break! We are also anxiously awaiting another season of “Man in the High Castle” on Amazon prime. It’s SO good! Until then, it’s movies if we have time. What are some ways you prefer to unwind at the end of a day?

You can hop homes by checking out the other participating blogger’s A Night In posts below. I hope you all enjoy the series, and thanks for stopping by!

I love a cosy night in. That copper table top lamp is gorgeous, having a change in lighting can completely transform a room. I love a room that’s dappled in light and warm tones for night time – at the minute I just use copper fairy lights, but this has made me want to invest in something a little more grown up

  11. Howdy! Quick question that’s completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks weird when viewing from my iphone. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to fix this issue. If you have any recommendations, please share. Appreciate it!

I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any recommendations for first-time blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.

When I originally commented I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I receive 4 emails with the exact same comment. Is there a means you can remove me from that service? Thanks!
