Family Update: We are Moving.

February 13, 2020

house to home

Posted 09/12

We debated whether we should share this now, or wait till the deed is done. However, we realized that since so much of our work in the coming months will be tied into this process that it would be really difficult to keep it under wraps. So with that….. WE ARE MOVING! We have been prepping to get our house on the market. It feels completely surreal because we were hoping to be here much longer, and to be honest feels more on the sad side than anything right now, but I guess that is to be expected when it is a place you love so much.

We are pursuing a move out of state, and will share the why and where soon when we get a few things figured out. It is extremely hard for me to think about moving away from my parents, siblings, and our friends that live here so we definitely didn’t take this decision lightly. Ultimately it came down to our hope for long term family life as well as schools for our children. If you have been around for a while you know this has been a tricky piece for us to figure out. We feel so much peace though in this decision, and we know that is how God works.

This is the first home we ever owned, and since we have been here four years, there are a lot of emotions tied into this place. This is a home we have brought babies home in, celebrated milestones and birthdays, planted a family garden, spent Christmases, long summer evenings, and grew closer together as a family unit. Even though I know HOME can be anywhere my family is, the memories of a home can hold so much weight in our lives. We have poured hours and hours into making it a place of our own, and I wish more than anything we could just bring it with us.

However, if there is anything we have learned from our moves over the years is that the walls around you don’t define home….it really is the people who you love that do. We are hoping this special place will be a good home for it’s next owners. You can email us if you are currently looking for a gem in the Cumming, GA area.

These are some photos of some of my favorite memories here in this house. We have a huge to-do list in a short amount of time, so life is about to get a little hectic….but when is it not? ha! I am really hoping for no more major life changes after this one for a good long while.

We will be sharing some of the house hunting updates as well as how we are prepping our own home to sell. Our goal is to stay put and enjoy these last months here until the kids are out of school. Thank you for all the love and kindness through our renovation story and the milestones of our kids. We couldn’t be more grateful.

Will miss you all being GA residents! But wish you all the best of luck in moving. 🙂

One of my favorite quotes from Dave Ramsey:

“A ‘home’ is wherever I make it. There’s a ‘house’ on every corner.”

I’ve found that to be true! Your love and resourcefulness will make a beautiful new home. I’ll remember your family in my prayers tonight.

  3. Can I root for an Ohio move??? Seriously though, we just did this move (with half the number of kids) 3 years ago this summer. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. It will be so great, though bittersweet. But really, OH… 😉

Look into Great Hearts Charter schools based in Phoenix, Dallas (where my kids go), and San Antonio. Huge Catholic community here!

You know you need to move to Greenville, SC!!!

  6. We are in the process of moving now as well… for better schools 😁 It’s exciting and sad all at the same time, but we can do this!!!

Anna! Wow how exciting!! I’m sure it’s very emotional as so much beauty has been created and shared in your home. I have a feeling great adventures await you all though and God is so faithful in his leading. He goes before you always! Love and prayers during this transition.
