says:I am from San Antonio, which is one of the hubs (and first stops) for many migrants seeking asylum in the US. Many families arrive here with little or nothing, and no idea what to do next. There are some local charities and ministries here that offer a direct outreach for these families. If you donate to our local food bank, to the Catholic Charities, or the Interfaith Welcome Center, you can be sure that your donation will go directly to a family seeking asylum in the US. Here is an impactful article about families arriving here in the US, and links at the bottom with local resources.
I will be honest and say that these donations do not go to the detention camps. At this time, no donations are being accepted. But once families with small children are processed and released, many head here to SA.
