We love gathering friends and family around the dinner table in our home. We hosted Friendsgiving this year, and everyone brought something to share! As you read in this post, we recently discovered Philips Hue smart lighting and incorporated them into our dining room setup to set the perfect lighting for the evening. Here are a few details about setting the perfect Friendsgiving table scape and menu lineup!

 

 

 
Table Setting:

– I used a flannel cloth for the center of the table, followed by a bunch of vintage candlesticks, a gold lantern and some gourds!

-Each place setting included a festive charger, dinner plate, salad plate, bowl, napkin, cutlery, water glass, wine glass and mini pumpkin.

-We used the Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance lighting to set the ambiance since our dinner was during and after sunset hours. 

 

 

 

 

Menu:
White Chicken Chili
Arugula Salad topped with figs, goat cheese, and candied pecans
Stuffed Shells with Butternut Squash sauce
Apple Pie

The menu included some of my favorite fall dishes, and our friends contributed wine and appetizers!

 

 

 
We used the Hue app (available for iOS / Android) to create a Friendsgiving light scene with soft tones and cozy white hues. This was a fun way to set the mood for a relaxing dinner. (Complete with a background dinner music playlist!)

I love that you can play with light and color to create your desired ambiance for any moment in your day or year. I can only imagine what Gabe (aka Buddy the Elf) is going to do with this app on Christmas Eve.
