I think once you find your go-to makeup items, it can take 5 minutes to get your routine down. Skin care is the key to minimal makeup, but it is so nice to have a few items that help me feel awake and ready to face the day. This is a break down of 5 minute every day makeup routine as well as what I use when I want to dress up a little more. I use Beautycounter as a one stop shop for all my makeup, skin care, and hair care items since I know I can trust their ingredients to be safe, but they are comparable in performance to my old favorites.

FIVE MINUTE FACE STEPS

1. Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation – Lightweight, hydrating, and very flattering pigments. I love how this is layerable if you need additional coverage, but it does’nt feel like I am wearing foundation. I will add a few pumps of dew skin tinted moisturizer over it if I want the spf 20 and dewy finish.
2. Touch Up Concealer Pen – Brightens up under the eyes, and is super easy to apply with a click. I blend with a brush or ring finger over my foundation.
3. Color Define Eyebrow Pencil – I fill in my brows with this pencil in the color Dark. It does a really good job filling in and still looking natural. I use the other side of the pencil to brush brows upwards.
4. Satin Powder Blush – I use the cheek brush to apply this on the apples of my cheeks to add a little color to my face. I used to use Nars blush, but it rated a 7 out of 10 in toxicity level on ewg.org so I was so happy to find this Satin Powder Blush clean dupe! Nectar is almost the exact shade of my old fave.
5. Volumizing Mascara – I had a hard time letting go of my L’Oreal mascara and still holding out on them to start going clean! For every day, I have really liked the volumizing mascara because it doesn’t leave residue under your eyes, and it leaves your lashes feeling full and soft vs clumpy and sticky.
6. Nourishing Lip Gloss – I finish with a swipe of nourishing lip gloss in Opal or Bare Shimmer and it feels SO good on your lips.

These 6 steps are enough to make me at least semi-awake in the mornings;)  These items are also offered in a complete set for a bundle price, as well as a free oil free makeup remover with purchase! If I want to dress up the look even more I will add a Radiant All Over Bronzer, Liquid Eyeliner, Color Intense Lipstick in Brunch or 9 to 5, and a smokey eye from the Romantic Palette.  This is the look pictured above.

I really don’t like spending much  time on my hair either (I need a GIF in here of ain’t no mama got time!), so I will wash and style once every three to four days (I will keep dry when I shower), and use dry shampoo and hair spray in between.

1. I have been using Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner, and will blow dry afterwards.
2. This hair curling wand from amazon is awesome. It has interchangeable wands so I will use it to style waves and spray with Josh Rosebrook hairspray which is also clean ingredient.
3.  If my hair needs a lift on day 2 or 3 I just use Bambu Earth dry shampoo at the roots and blend in.
4. Hair scarves like this one pictured are such an easy way to dress up your standard pony and it takes less than 5 minutes when you are in a rush.
