They really wanted to help “bring food to people who don’t have any dinner.” Local food banks across the country have a shortage this year due to so many natural disasters. As they are preparing to provide Thanksgiving Dinner for as many people as possible, […]

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving where I live, but what a coincidence. Just the other day, my Mum volunteered at a soup kitchen here! I think it’s a great thing to do, if you don’t have money to donate, donating your time is really nice too!

says:Thanks for this type of holiday post! It’s easy to get burned out on all the gift guides and consumerism this time of year, so this series is a breath of fresh air! Your blog is lovely and you are an inspiration as a mother.

says:Awesome! Ironically, today I happened into a little lesson in giving food with kids. Instead of grabbing some things from our pantry for their school food drive, they each got 10$ to spend at our grocery to fill a bag for the drive. We talked healthy food choices, quality nutrition vs quantity, and we all left happy and with very full bags. Well, I was a little exhausted and they all exceeded their 10$ slightly (next lesson is on taxes!), but we were all smiles. And now tomorrow we have to drive to school because our bounty won’t fit on our bikes!!

says:Best to give what you can, especially this time of year! We also put dog food and cat food in ziploc bags and hand out when a homeless person has a pet.
