Let’s talk swimsuits.

(When I was expecting Azelie last summer, wearing Rey Swimwear, GigiPip Hat)

Okay ladies. I have come to accept that I will never enjoy swimsuit shopping in stores. Surely someone will soon invent dressing room light that doesn’t make you feel like you are on the set of Stranger Things. This is why I buy them online, try them at home, return 90% of them, but still manage to find a few that will do the job;)

This year however, I have found several that are actually stellar. I think these companies finally got the memo that the female form is not a one size fits all. In fact, I think they are figuring out how to flatter our femininity instead of doing it an injustice in the form of a wrestling unitard or something that resembles a small crochet potholder. Okay I’ll stop…. it’s time to talk swimsuits!

(Wearing this white ruffle one piece from Target)

Currently loving:
1. The Castaway, Albion Fit – The colors! The back! It’s just too good.
2. Ruffled White Swimsuit, Target – Wore this with denim shorts on a cooler day at the beach.
3. Floral Swim Top, Anthro paired with Coral Bottoms, Urban Outfitters
4. Ruffle High Waisted Bottoms, Anthro paired with Peachy Keen Crop, Albion
5. Reversible Swimsuit, Topshop – I’d probably add additional lining though!
6. Off the shoulder one piece, J.Crew – Probably not practical for swimming, but oh how I love.
7. Harper Swimsuit – Nordstrom
8.  Red Halter Bow Tie Swimsuit, J. Crew – Classic red never goes out of style!
9. Twist front tankini, Anthropologie
10. I love the Marysia line of scalloped sets, but the pricetag is painful!

If you are pregnant, I highly recommend checking out ASOS since they have free shipping both ways. They also have a good amount of options for curvy girls which is refreshing! Maybe more companies will follow suit. (No pun intended.)

Wishing you all warmer temps ahead and a happy weekend~

Love these! Target also offers a scalloped one piece suit in lots of colors that is similar to the Marysia line but much cheaper.

  3. Your ruffle suit is so cute! And it’s Target!
I’m not a swimmer but I may need this for occasions my husband insists I go to the pool with him and our little man.

  4. Natalie says:

I HATE swimsuit shopping, I have never found one I liked other than the one I use for sports. These look fantastic though – thank you for sharing!

Reading the title of this post i was like “YES LET’S TALK ABOUT SWIMSUITS!” hah i love swimwear so much! The Marysia line has been in my wishlist for ages now and yes – sadly that price tag is so very painful

  6. Anna says:

Oh my goodness, thank you for this! I had 4 kids in under 6 years, and as much as I try to look and feel fit, bathing suits make me cringe. I’m either safely held in and feeling like an old lady – or looking “cute” and worried about all my various parts falling out while I chase babies! bwahahaha Definitely will be trying a few of these!
Would love to see a post on your favorite hats and beach bags for this year also! xoxo

  7. Ashley Jarosz

    says:

I love the white ruffle suit from Target but I can’t find a pic of the front. I am assuming it is scoop. Are there any cup liners for the bust area?

  8. Kelly Brito says:

I buy a new swimsuit almost yearly. Sometimes 2 or 3 sets. I need to learn to control myself! But there are so many new cute designs every year!
This year I’m finishing a retro-style bikini that I started sewing last year (maybe 2 years ago!). Just found it while cleaning up my sewing space, so I can’t wait to work on it!

    says:

How do you get back into shape (stay in shape) after all your babies? Please share your secret! 🙂

  10. Anand says:

If we want to buy perfectly fitted swimsuits for us, we much buy by offline it self. In shopping marts/maals we can get a trail rooms we can it there and we can choose which is best for us. in online we don’t get that option. so I prefers to buy by offline itself more.
