christmas dinner menu

I put together a Thanksgiving menu that turned out a little traditional, a little non-traditional, and a good collection of favorite foods. I am sharing this menu today as a Christmas Dinner Menu idea for those of you who may be hosting. We will be having many of these when we gather around my mother’s table on the 25th. So here are food and table ideas from our kitchen this year:)

 name card setting

Christmas table setting

Christmas Table Setting:
Centerpiece made from grocery store items and eucalyptus
Patterned place mats
White dishes (a wedding gift!)
Melamine stemware
Gold cutlery
Patterned napkins (sold out but these are fun)
Gold napkin rings
Set of wooden pieces found here.  Gabe drilled the place for the name card.

For the napkin fold, start with a square and fold one corner to the opposite corner. Take outer points and join in the middle to the third point. Flip over, fold back sides towards middle, and add your napkin ring over the top point. Turn upside down and peel down sides like a banana. Done.
*It has taken a long time to gather pieces for our table. We are saving up for chargers for next year:) Really, there are so many ways to assemble a table and mix matching is great too! Use what you have and make the most of it.

What are you all making for Christmas dinner? I love how much food can trigger memories (usually good ones!) for us, and just writing this post has me longing for home. Looking forward to Christmas so much this year.

Your menu sounds so perfect for Christmas dinner – traditional but a little unique and I love that so many of the foods at your table are recipes from loved ones. Christmas must be SO incredibly fun at your mom’s house! Will all eleven siblings be there!? Your sister’s crescent rolls look just like my family’s – I will think of you when I enjoy mine on Christmas Day! 😉 my mom always made filet mignon and twice baked potatoes for Christmas dinner so that’s what I’ll be making in our home.
