As my own family is working on living a simpler lifestyle, I have complete respect for those doing this so well. When I heard about Aurora’s family and the life they have chosen to live in a tiny home on wheels, I asked her to share her story with you. So happy to have her as a guest today…

Hi all! My name is Aurora, I’m a website curator and photographer some days, mama always and wife first! I love and believe in creativity in the small things; in the mundane, in our dwelling spaces, in our words, in all our days.

A year ago, my family of 3 (soon to be 4) purchased a tiny home, finished the named Tiny Home project a few months later and parked it on some beautiful land in the hills of Southern California! We’ve moved 5 times in our 3 years married, and somehow living small was our constant unintended theme which is what lead us to the tiny home life.

Living small has allowed us more time together, more time outdoors and less time cleaning, worrying or spending money on the aforementioned. We’ve been able to spend more money on travel, outdoor hosting of events and sharing our hearts with the desire to live simpler. Tiny home living isn’t for everyone and I’m not on a world mission to proclaim such; but I do encourage and believe in all of us living out our dreams, using less to live fuller and spending our days intentionally with the ones we love!

amazing! my husband and i lived in a 350 sq ft studio apartment our first year of marriage. it was so hard with such little space, but also the most magical year. there really is something about simplicity. kudos to her!

Its so funny, the more our businesses grow and we consider a larger home to accommodate a growing family, the more we also start planning for retirement in a tiny cottage or cabin in a beautiful place. Haha. These folks cut to the chase, and I love that. 🙂

We just recently watched the documentary Tiny on Netflix (definitely recommend) and it was so encouraging for us. I am so glad to see this interview – I love seeing how living small translates for families with children and not just couples. Living simply is truly such a gift.

I like the idea of living with less: it not only declutters your home but also your mind. Living simply by living small has many benefits. I am looking to downgrade myself, but my husband insists on living a big house! Wish I could live in a smaller, more manageable place in the future. Simple Living

I love it! Very refreshing to see people living out their dreams and simplifying the clutter that so often is caused by the excessive materialism. Awesome photo with the family and the cross in the background. That speaks volumes. 🙂

Oh, it’s so nice! Living small is also one of my goals because I hate spending the whole Saturday cleaning the house. I moved to Toronto last week and actually, I’d like to try living small and vintage. I’ve already visited some vintage shops in Toronto that I found on some blog and I plan to redesign my first own place. I decided for Italian vintage look but my flat is tiny 😉 so I keep looking for inspiration so that I can consider all the options. What would you suggest? … I want to thank you for this post! It gave me an idea to arrange my pictures together on one wall where I will see my memories all together. I hope that in the end, my small home will look as good as this one!
