I was seeing all the instagrams of the Hip and Handmade Holiday — I need to check it out. And Amanda’s sangria looks amaaaazing.
Also, I did Thanksgiving for the first time last year and was a little freaked out like you but it was seeeeriously doable. You’ll be fine!
A guy in my office has that cup! I got such a fright when I saw it, thinking he messed up an expensive lens, but it’s really nifty.
Welcome November! (and the weekend!) Wishing you a lovely one with your family 🙂 As for Thanksgiving, you’ll shine! As you mentioned in your facebook post this morning, its the small things that matter most – in entertaining, the details are what counts. From place setting names, to piping hot whipped squash (affordable & easy!) – the small things wow. And ofcourse, regardless – being amongst your family is the best! xo
For thanksgiving I’m a sucker for candied sweet potatoes with candied pecans on top, and brown sugar, cream and butter whipped into the mashed yams 🙂

OH do I feel you pain on thanksgiving! last year I cooked for 35 people and this year it will be close to 50!! My trip is I order a pre-cooked Turkey and Ham so I have oven space for sides. But my kitchen is WAY too small!

You will do FANTASTIC on Thanksgiving! If I could give you one tip: do as MUCH as possible before hand. Much of thanksgiving dinner can be made the day before and warmed in the oven. It will ease your nerves AND allow more time to enjoy your family!

That cup is awesome! Good luck with Thanksgiving- I’m sure you’ll do great though! I like Sara’s idea of making some/most of the dinner beforehand. Seems a little more stress free, and personally I always love the stuffing and stuff the day after more than the first day! Y-U-M
Oh wow! You are in for a wonderful (and tiresome) treat preparing Thanksgiving dinner. My best advice is to make a menu and then write down exactly what time you need to put certain things in stove, oven, etc. Also, if there is anything you chop up or prepare for the next day, go ahead and do it ahead of time. The biggest challenge with preparing a feast is the timing.
(Oh, and if you are feeling really overwhelmed, I actually saw a recipe for cooking a turkey in a crockpot on pinterest…:)

I have a DELICIOUS and EASY Herb and butter basted turkey breast recipe I’ll find and send you. It is wonderful but it is just the breast, not a whole turkey so I’m not sure if it will work for your needs (maybe you could do 2 breasts?). I’ll send it anyway in case you may want to use some other time.

Atlanta during the fall is one of my favorite places on earth. I used to visit my best friend during college every year at that time, and my first year down I fell in love.

LOVE the boots. Don’t stress about Thanksgiving. Prepare as much as you can ahead of time so all you have to do is pop everything in the oven. I have even bought the Willie bird from William Sonoma which is easy peasy and delicious and takes all the stress out! xo
