True Beauty Files: Baubles & Tips

True Beauty Files

Posted 09/12

Okay friends, I have a few fun tips and shops for you today:) You know, just some girlfriend chat..

Greens & Blues

{Top: J.Crew, Skirt: c/o Deloom, Necklace: ebay, clutch: F21, Shoes: H&M (similar), Bracelet: c/o Crafts and Love}

1) When I first laid eyes on the original bubble necklaces in J.Crew (even before they exploaded across the blogosphere), my heart fluttered. Since I rarely have a car payments worth of cash to drop, especially on a trend, I just admired from afar. Then a friend gave me the tip to look on ebay… Score. $15 for these knockoff beauts. As promised here, I wanted to share with you where to find them. Just search “J. Crew Bubble Necklaces” and it will pull up slews of them.

2) Raise your hand if you have paid more than $8 for a bottle of nailpolish? I admit I have, and unfortunately they chip just as easily as the next. I found this brand called Essence at Ulta. They are $1 mini bottles and work better than anything else I have! No joke. (Wearing above)

3) I could spend hours on etsy. I appreciate the creativity, love discovering unique finds, and love to support small businesses. I was thrilled to be introduced to Atlanta local, Courtney’s shop, Crafts and love. The style of her work is right up my alley, and the quality is just what you hope for when you order handmade. And best of all, the prices are affordable:)

Okay that’s all for now:) Have any fun ones to share?? I have a very cool giveaway going on tomorrow so stay tuned!

The True Beauty Files:
A lookbook for the modern modeste.
“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”

  4. Yeap the price of that necklace on ebay is crazy! don’t know how people still go full price on J.Crew! My nails chip with anything, after 2 days only!! Someone recommended using base and top coat, got to try that 😉

i just bought a bubble necklace from ebay – I love it! and I love your yellow nails!! what a beautiful outfit!

  11. Oooh, I wish I would have seen this post yesterday. I JUST bought one of these necklaces for $40 from an etsy-like shop owner. That price is amazing though. Maybe I’ll get one in a differenct color. Thanks so much for sharing a great find!

  12. Great outfit! You have certainly inspired me to be a little more creative with my outfits!

  13. Alissa F says:

I totally want a tutorial on your hair!

  14. Love these tips!! I need to remember to check out Ebay more often, and the nail polish recommendation is truly appreciated. I love to paint my nails, and will continue to do so, despite the fact that they chip after a day. No joke. So $1 polish? Seems like a good plan 😉 Thanks for sharing!

  15. Love the green color! And I will have to get that necklace! 🙂

  16. Rach says:

LOVE that essence brand at ulta! I have several shades of grey, and 2 kinds of lavender in that brand…it’s a great way to convince myself to try new colors for cheap! and you’re right–they last so much longer than other brands!!

  17. Sarah says:

Ooh thanks for the nail polish tip. I stopped buying OPI because I was paying like $8 a bottle and they chipped after two days. So frustrating!!! I’ll have to give this a try. And those bauble necklaces, LOVE!!!

  18. I’m raising my hand for spending more than $8 on nailpolish! $1?? I must check that out! Great tips Anna..you are so damn cute!

  19. Mrs. Baker says:

this outfit is great and thanks for the tips!!!

  20. I can’t believe the price of the necklace and I’d be happy if I could get an OPI polish for 8$ – they’re 18$ in France!!

I looked at these once but was nervous about ordering from China. I suppose everything comes from China these days and if you didn’t have any problems I better snatch one up!

  22. Shea says:

I’m glad you love a good bargain too–I’ll definitely have to check out that nail polish, as well as the cheaper versions of the J. Crew necklace. And what a great outfit too, the print of your skirt is so pretty!

  25. i have that exact necklace! i won it in a giveaway! 🙂

  26. Daisy says:

That skirt is so cute! Love it.

  27. JenB says:

I am going to start buying that $1 nail polish, thanks! Regarding people being afraid to buy from China: Scan through the feedback. I have had friends order wedding dresses for dirt cheap from China on Ebay and one had a positive experience and the other had a slightly positive experience.

What I like: Shoplately.com has cute really cheap jewelry. On etsy I like pinkquartzminerals for vegan mineral eyeshadow. Otherwise I buy non-fashion related stuff on etsy.

  28. Bridget says:

    i LOVE that necklace!

  29. jenbe.me says:

thanks for sharing abt the polish.. the fiance will be very happy to hear it! LOL we were just discussing outrageous nail polish prices at the grocery store the other night (mostly him telling me i was not allowed to purchase $9 nail polish) 😀 xo

  30. I love your tips and tricks! Etsy is my go-to place for buying gifts, and I always love learning about new shops! I actually just posted a summer gift guide from my favorite Etsy sellers today!
    xx

  48. Having read this I believed it was very enlightening.

I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this content together.
I once again find myself personally spending way too much time both reading and commenting.
But so what, it was still worth it!

  49. Sosblogs.Com says:

I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative and engaging, and
without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is an issue that too few people are speaking intelligently about.
I’m very happy that I came across this during my hunt
    for something regarding this.
